Advanced Skin Consultation at Serenity Skin Townsville

Every new patient journey at Serenity Skin begins with a detailed consultation. Rather than asking you to choose a treatment, Dr Caitlin will take the time to understand your concerns, assess your skin and discuss what you would like to achieve.

Consultations are available for medical skin concerns, aesthetic goals, laser and light treatments, hair and scalp concerns, benign skin lesions and procedures, and personalised skincare.

What to Expect

Your consultation may include:

• A discussion of your concerns and goals

• Review of your medical history, medications and previous treatments

• Assessment of your skin and any areas of concern

• Aura imaging, to support treatment planning and monitor your progress over time

• Discussion of suitable options, risks, recovery and costs

• A personalised plan for treatment and follow-up

Further investigation, biopsy or referral may be recommended when clinically appropriate. Treatment may be possible on the day, depending on suitability, appointment time and the type of treatment required.

New Patient Consultations

All new patients require an initial Advanced Skin Treatment Consultation before beginning treatment. This allows enough time to assess your needs properly and recommend care based on your skin, rather than a treatment selected in advance.

The Advanced Skin Treatment Consultation is $250 and does not attract a Medicare rebate. This includes your consultation, Aura imaging (valued at $50), and a deposit toward any treatment booked on the day. Treatment, products, pathology and other external costs are additional.

Aura Imaging

Serenity Skin is the first clinic in the region to offer Aura imaging. Consistent, standardised photography is an essential part of how we practise medicine — it supports accurate treatment planning, allows us to monitor your progress and gives you a genuine before-and-after comparison over time. That's why Aura imaging is included as standard with every consultation, rather than offered as an optional extra.

Telehealth Consultations

Telehealth is available for suitable concerns. An initial Telehealth consultation is approximately $200, as Aura imaging isn't applicable to a video appointment. Clear photographs may be requested before your appointment. Skin checks, dermoscopy, Aura imaging, biopsies and procedures require an in-person visit.
