Skin Cancer Checks & Treatment at Serenity Skin Townsville

Serenity Skin works closely with our sister clinic, NQ Skin Centre, to support the assessment and treatment of concerning skin lesions. Care may be provided at Serenity, referred to NQ Skin Centre or coordinated between both clinics, depending on the type of lesion and the most appropriate clinician.

Skin Checks and Spot Checks

Comprehensive full-body skin checks should be booked through NQ Skin Centre or Belgian Gardens Medical Centre. Dermoscopy, clinical photography and FotoFinder monitoring are available through NQ Skin Centre where appropriate.

Patients with a specific changing or concerning lesion can book a spot check with Dr Caitlin at Serenity Skin. A biopsy may be recommended when more information is needed to diagnose a lesion, rash or unexplained skin concern.

Treatment and Follow-Up

Dr Caitlin may perform skin cancer excisions at Serenity when appropriate. More complex lesions may be managed through NQ Skin Centre or referred for specialist care. Selected surgical and non-surgical options, including laser treatment for suitable lesions in sensitive areas, may also be discussed following assessment.

Tissue collected during a biopsy or excision is sent for histopathology, with follow-up arranged to discuss the result and any further care required.

Eligible skin cancer services provided at Serenity may attract a Medicare rebate. Any expected fees and rebate information will be explained before your procedure.
